Champion 4 Flushing System
The Champion 4 Flushing System features the industry's largest flush valve and trapway, producing a faster, more powerful, and quieter flush.

The Champion will move a mass 70 percent larger than the industry standard. It achieves the highest bulk removal rating--1,000 grams--and will even flush a bucket of golf balls! This means that your Champion 4 toilet will allow you to flush with confidence and never worry about plunging a toilet again.

Engineered to Perform
This flushing system is engineered to do more and to do it better. Not only does the Champion 4 Flushing System achieve the maximum MaP (Maximum Performance) rating for bulk removal, but it also offers a surprising amount of water power--power that's fully realized due to each Champion 4 toilet's innovative design.

More Power In
Champion 4 toilets feature a four-inch Accelerator Flush Valve that allows more water to enter the bowl more quickly, for a more powerful flush. The largest flush valve in the industry, it helps keep the bowl clean and eliminates streaking.

In fact, the large, four-inch valve opening pushes water into the bowl three times faster than a standard two-inch flush valve. That's also one-third faster than a 3-1/4-inch flush valve and almost twice as fast as a three-inch flush valve.

More Volume Out
The largest fully glazed siphon trapway in the industry, the wide-open 2-3/8-inch Champion trapway can move a 40-percent-larger mass than a 2-1/8-inch trapway and an almost 70-percent-larger mass than a standard two-inch trapway.

EverClean Surface
Packed with features, the Champion 4 toilet also features a unique EverClean surface. The EverClean surface on the Champion 4 is applied to the inside and outside of the bowl and tank. The unique surface helps to inhibit the growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold, and mildew on the surface to the toilet. EverClean will also help with your household chores as the toilet will stay cleaner, longer, helping to keep that mirror like finish even after years of use. Keep your toilet looking new for years with an EverClean surface.

Ten-Year Worry-Free Warranty
The Champion 4 Elongated One-Piece Toilet is backed by a ten-year warranty that covers everything for residential and commercial installations, including china and tank trim, inside and out.

This review is for the American Standard Champion 2004.014.021. I was a little reluctant to purchase such a heavy item through Amazon, however with the lowest price I could find and free shipping with Prime and no tax, I decided to take a chance. The unit arrived well packed and in perfect condition from CEVA approximately 5 business days after I ordered it. I was able to track the package on the CEVA website and CEVA called the day before delivery to confirm that I would be home to receive it.

Before I installed the unit I installed a new flange over the old one and also had to add a couple of flange extenders to bring the flange height slightly above the level of my floor. I unpacked the unit, installed the wax ring, and put a light coating of silicone on the bottom. My son helped me to lift the toilet over the closet bolts, we straightened and set the toilet and installed the nuts. The instructions were good except that I believe it is best to install the plastic washer, then a metal washer, and then the nut. The instructions called for putting the nut over the plastic washer which didn't seem right to me. We connected the water line, opened the valve and gave it the first test. Everything worked well right out of the box. This unit has exceptional flushing power and uses very little water. This is a well engineered toilet. We are planning to replace 3 other units with this model in the near future.

Update 9/8/2013
I ended up replacing 3 additional toilets with this exact same model in the bone color. All three were shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. I installed the last three by myself and it wasn't too difficult. These toilets flush well, use very little water, and they clean up easily. We have never had to use a plunger on these toilets.

I can't believe I'm spending part of my morning reviewing a toilet, but here goes....

I had two first generation water saving toilets in my home. I actually wore out a couple of plungers over the last 10 years. It was frequently a double flush or flush-plunge-flush. I finally had enough and spent the money to buy this based on recommendations. I have had this for several months and it works flawlessly. I have not had to use the plunger once. Everything flushes on the first flush, every time. It worked so well I even replaced our other toilet with one of these. Highly recommended!

Is it possible to love a toilet? I think it is. Perhaps that makes me weird. Here's the thing: One of my biggest pet peeves about most home toilets is that they come in two pieces; i.e. the tank is separate from the base of the toilet, held in place by two bolts and two rubber gaskets. Just about every toilet that I have seen is built this way. Why is this? I can't think of a good reason for it. And yet, there is a huge problem in that design, in that the bolts used to attach the tank to the base eventually rust out and leak. It is only a matter of time. And yet, replacing the tank is a messy hassle. I have done so MANY TIMES (and I am not an old man) and I refuse to do it again. So I say NO MORE! It's time for a toilet that is built in ONE PIECE! And this is the toilet.

First of all, it's a flushing MACHINE. Our previous toilet clogged. A LOT. This was made worse by the fact that we had carpet in the bathroom (not our install, the previous owners of the house had installed carpet and we just were too lazy to take it out until recently). So every time you put too many squares of TP down the drain, it backed up, and backed whatever you deposited all over the carpeted floor. I got very good at quickly reaching for the shut-off valve to prevent this. However our guests did not. I haven't put any deceased hamsters or sandwiches down there yet (not that I recommend it), but I imagine that if that day came, this toilet would have no problem. Seriously, the flush valve is FOUR INCHES WIDE. I don't know anyone who could defecate enough in a toilet that water rushing from the tank through a four-inch hole couldn't dislodge whatever has been placed inside the bowl.

Secondly, while there are other one-piece toilets out there, the vast majority are of the "comfort height" variety.

I have used this toilet for about one month. I am comparing this toilet to a Toto which I had installed about 1 1/2 years ago. The American Standard has a very good flush - no problems there but it is very noisy. The flush is quick and loud followed by gurgling and bubbling sounds. The Toto also has an excellent flush and is loud without all the after gurgling and blurbing sounds.
I was disappointed in the white color of this toilet as it is not a true white, more of a grey white which does not match my sink. I had to buy custom paint to cover the white caulk as it stood out and was the first thing I saw when I walked in the room. The Toto is a true white. There is very little water in the American Standard bowl but plenty in the Toto. This doesn't seem to affect anything but I prefer more water in the bowl. Lastly, the placement of the handle on American Standard is not as convenient as Toto. Both seem to be equal in function but I prefer the Toto.
